Already an established hostilery in the area, this extensive property extends to a ground floor public bar, first floor function roomand first floor bar on Belfast’s Shankil Road.
Richmond were once again comissioned to design and fit-out the first floor bar to supplement the existing business. The unique shape of the room did not provide for a traditional layout in that the bar servery itself is only 2metres wide from and opening fromed in an adjacent room. The main seating area is rectangular with an off-set return providing a ‘snug’ area.
The brief was to combine traditional elements with flourishes of contemporary designand at the same time maximising seating with banquette throughout. Natural oak for panelling and edge details gives a fine balance of modern yet classic finish combined with faux leathers to retain that traditional bar feel. The floor superficially appears as timber but is in fact Legni High-Tec ceramic wooden planks by Lomac Tiles - a new product giving the appearance of timber planking but with the serviceability of ceramics.
The perimetre walls are a duo of soft linen and deep red both from Dulux’s heritage range and are punctuated with abstract art for that finsihing touch. Another Design Classic by Richmond that exudes quality and craftmanship yet is affordable and has longevity.
