Red Panda

restaurants

Over the past twenty five years, Ulster had seen a proliferation of ethnically diverse restaurants from Cantonese and Italian to French and Thai. Recently restaurants have married there native cuisine with equally diverse interior solutions. This is true of ‘Red Panda’ at Junction One

Already a respected restaurant group with high profile locations in Belfast and further afield providing quality, affordable Chinese and Cantonese dishes in impressive surroundings.

Richmond Reproductions of Bangor were once again charged with the fit out of this new and innovative stand alone restaurant.

With the majority of the materials sourced in the Far East the restaurant retains a certain contemporary authenticity missing in many solutions of this nature.

The seated area is open plan but broken up by groups of four back to back seating units in stunning white leather and dark stained timber. Each booth is illuminated via a cantilever arm in stainless steel, organic in form and striking in its inventiveness.

Similarly the main ceiling is lit by both over scaled red fabric covered lamps shades and concealed neon strips bringing both softness, texture and ambience.

The main servery bar is focal in the entire scheme with the front back-lit stone specially commissioned, brought together again with dark stained timber. Neo classical Chinese lanterns frame the back wall while elements of traditional Chinese lattice work, artwork and imagery envelope the space echoing a cherished colourful history.

Red Panda is a stylish and subtle take on an established genre, bold and yet authentic and would not be out of place on the bustling streets of Beijing.

Working in conjunction with architectural practice Barnes McCrum, Richmond yet again have delivered a quality restaurant interior adding to their already respected portfolio of discerning interior solutions fitted out to the highest level of craftsmanship and professionalism meeting every deadline set on time.
