Millmount

bars

An established iconic building, you could not fail to miss the 'blue bar' when driving through Drumcondra.  Owned by the Prison Officers Association of Dublin, this well known location needed substantial works to be carried out including the demolition of the rear of the building and complete re-construction.

Richmond working in conjunction with the client's architect, were challenged with addressing all the problems arising from this brief including constructing a new cellar area, public bar, function room, w.c suite and first floor apartments.

The solution, classic in appearance, is punctuated by modern influences and period styling. The main feature is the mahogany bar, traditionally detailed with a rosewood tint, bringing a sense of richness.  The ceramic floor throughout brings geometry and quality and the specially commissioned water-cut 'POA' logo set into the floor when you arrive, almost suggests an old style 'seal' to the interior.

The public bar and function room are linked by folding doors that during peak usage can be folded back to accommodate larger numbers of patrons and maximize the use of the space.

Millmount House is fine example of the classic bar solution which utilizes quality craftsmanship and creativity and marries it with the latest building materials and technology.
